If you would like to give to the ministry at Lawrence, you may pick from a few options:
Giving to Campus Ministers through InterVarsity Campus Accounts
Please consider (especially if you an alum) giving to our shared campus ministry account. These accounts fund any staff working with an InterVarsity chapter at a particular campus (we generally split this account among current staff, though may divide it according to need). The nice thing about campus accounts is that they link ministry partners to the work, rather than to individual staff. This encourages a team approach to fund development and provides more stability to the campus ministry in the event of staff transition or addition to the staff team.

Giving to Individual Campus Minister Accounts
Support for campus staff is the largest financial need for the ministry at Lawrence.
Each IV staff raise a budget that includes his salary, ministry expenses, ministry overhead, and various other things (like the employer's part of the FICA contribution). Current IV campus ministers at Lawrence are Adam Umbarger and Tim Webster. To donate, make out a check to IVCF, with the name of the staff worker in the memo (e.g. "for campus staff Adam Umbarger"). Mail it to:
ATTN: Donation Services
InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA
PO Box 7895
Madison, WI 53707-7895
608-274-9001
You may also donate by credit card to Adam's account online, or Tim's account, or by calling the IV toll free number, 866-734-4823 (ask for the Special Gifts Coordinator).
IV national takes care of processing, reporting, and receipting.
We are also blessed to have Lyndsey Kirk on staff helping with LCF. Lyndsey is with the campus ministry called His House, working together in partnership with LCF. By special arrangement between InterVarsity and HisHouse, we are able to provide some of the support for Lyndsey through a shared InterVarsity account (see section above). If you would prefer to give to Lyndsey directly through HisHouse, please see the online giving page.

IV Camp and Conference Scholarships
InterVarsity maintains an account called “Lawrence University Scholarships” which can be used for IV events. The IV National Service Center handles these gifts without any overhead charge. Disbursements are made at the discretion of the IV campus staff with the permission of the IV area supervisor. Generally campus ministers will work with the appropriate student leaders and award scholarships by primarily need-based criteria. Most years we could use several hundred dollars in this account. For this type of gift, the check should be made out to InterVarsity, with “Lawrence University Scholarship Account” written in the memo. Mail to:

Gifts in Kind
“Gifts in Kind” is the technical expression for non-cash gifts given to a non-profit organization (and mostly relevant if you want to claim it for tax purposes). For example, an alum donates Bibles to be given to students or a beginning-of-the-year tailgate party (that is, the alum gives actual stuff or services, not just gives money to buy it or do it). It is not a gift to an individual student or staff, must be given to an IV staff worker on behalf of the ministry, and the gift is used at the discretion of the ministry.
This is regulated carefully by the IRS and so we have to follow correct procedures and collect the correct information. Before giving a gift in kind, please speak with a LU campus minister. IV Donation Services (Bev Phillips at 608-443-3660 or bphillips@intervarsity.org) will provide receipts and can answer questions. Lawrence University may have a similar procedure for gifts in kind. The following is additional info. from IV:
Instructions for Gift-in-Kind Donations. The following information is needed to process a donor receipt for a gift-in-kind:
Donor name and address.
Complete description of the item, including year it was produced.
Serial numbers of donated item (if there is one).
Date the item was received.
Name of staff member, region or ministry who receives the gift on behalf of InterVarsity.
Please keep in mind that whenever we receive gifts-in-kind, the item(s) become the property of InterVarsity and not the staff member(s). We will receipt the donor for the item(s), but it is the donor’s responsibility to determine the value of the gift (we do provide the donor with a Federal Tax Form 8283 including instructions for filling out the form).

LCF Fundraising Account (at Lawrence University)
This account is a student discretionary account, where spending is not controlled by LUCC (student government) and generally used to supplement budgeted funds received from LUCC or to pay for things they don't cover. It is best used for scholarships or travel for training events, special projects like literature purchases, and chapter event food or supplies. Disbursements are made at the discretion of the student leadership with the permission of Campus Activities. Let student leaders know if you want a gift to go to something in particular.
Alum or others may make a donation. A check should be written out to “Lawrence University.” Write LCF-Donation 836041-3401-76001 in the memo line of the check. Checks should be mailed to:
ATTN: Charity, Campus Activities Office
Lawrence University
P.O. Box 599
Appleton WI 54912-0599
The Development Office will send a donation receipt.
